Incredibly tender pulled pork slow-cooked in a smoky spice rub and tangy barbecue sauce. Pile it into buns with coleslaw for the ultimate easy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) pork shoulder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, plus more for serving
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • Burger buns and coleslaw, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1. Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, cumin, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
  2. 2. Place pork in the slow cooker. Mix barbecue sauce and apple cider vinegar together and pour around the pork.
  3. 3. Cover and cook on LOW for 8–10 hours or HIGH for 5–6 hours until the meat is completely tender and falls apart.
  4. 4. Remove pork and shred with two forks, discarding any large fat pieces. Return to the slow cooker and mix with the juices.
  5. 5. Serve on toasted burger buns with extra barbecue sauce and coleslaw.
