Teriyaki Meatball Bowls

Juicy homemade meatballs glazed in a sweet teriyaki sauce, served over rice with steamed broccoli. A family dinner that's fun, filling, and ready in 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 400g (14 oz) ground beef or pork
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups steamed broccoli
  • Sesame seeds, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1. Mix ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper. Roll into small balls (about 3 cm diameter).
  2. 2. Pan-fry meatballs in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, turning regularly, until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. In the same pan, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry. Simmer over medium heat for 2–3 minutes until thickened into a glaze.
  4. 4. Return meatballs to the pan and toss to coat in the teriyaki glaze.
  5. 5. Serve over rice with steamed broccoli. Garnish with sesame seeds.
