Homemade Beef Tacos

Seasoned ground beef in crispy or soft taco shells with all the classic toppings. A build-your-own dinner that kids love and takes under 25 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 500g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (or 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp paprika)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 taco shells (hard or soft)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • Salsa, for serving

Instructions

  1. 1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart, for 6–8 minutes until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  2. 2. Add taco seasoning and water to the beef. Stir and cook for 2–3 minutes until the liquid absorbs and the meat is coated.
  3. 3. Warm taco shells according to the package instructions (usually 2–3 minutes in the oven at 180°C).
  4. 4. Set out the beef, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and salsa in bowls so everyone can build their own tacos. Serve immediately.
