One-Pan Garlic Chicken & Broccoli

A quick, flavorful, and healthy dinner that comes together in under 25 minutes. Juicy chicken, tender crisp broccoli, and fragrant garlic; all cooked in one pan for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 cups broccoli florets (fresh or thawed if frozen)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice or pinch of chili flakes for brightness/spice

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the ingredients: Slice chicken breasts into thin strips for even cooking. Cut broccoli into bite-sized florets if needed, and mince the garlic cloves.
  2. 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. When the oil shimmers, add minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant, without browning.
  3. 3. Add the sliced chicken to the pan, season lightly with salt and pepper, and cook for 6–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature around 75°C / 165°F). Transfer cooked chicken to a plate and keep warm.
  4. 4. In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add broccoli florets and a splash of water (2–3 tablespoons) to help them steam. Cover and cook for 3–4 minutes until tender but still bright green. Remove the lid and cook another 1–2 minutes to evaporate excess moisture.
  5. 5. Return the chicken to the pan with the broccoli. Toss everything together over medium-low heat for 1–2 minutes to warm through and blend flavors. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, or a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
  6. 6. Serve hot immediately, as is or with a side of rice, quinoa, or noodles for a complete meal.
